Hi;
I'd like to get started in realestate investing and am thinking I might start by buying a rental. I've been looking at properties and running some simple numbers, but I want to make sure I don't do something stupid that could have been prevented. What books do folks on this forum recommend? Any other advice for a complete newbie?

Im going through a depression phase right now. Every day I wake up I try my hardest to think positive and know that everything will be alright, but any little thing can and usually does put me in a miserable mood. Ive just gotten sober recently and I know that must play a big role in it. Any recomendations for any good books or anything

it is being made into a movie( which i find highly ironic, seeing as the point of the book, at least to me, is that Americans and people in general are far too obsessed with violence in the media, even and especially with children, and the fighting is what people will go to the movie to see...but hey.)

Suzanne Collins herself is the script writer, so it might be ok, although i think the true power/ beauty of the book is in Katniss's thoughts and descriptions of her emotions- and a facial expression isn't gonna cut it.

Lovecraft comes recommended. I'd stay away from Scott Card, but my absolute favorite book series is still Dune.

Of course, you should also check out Heller's Catch-22 if you haven't read it already; it's ridiculously hilarious, and literally the only book that's ever made me laugh out loud in public-- several times.
