I've never rented a house before (only apts) and I don't really know where to look. I would like to see if there is an easy to use website or a rental agent that I can hire to help me look for a house to rent. I don't want to move for 3 or 4 more months, but I want to start my search now so that I am prepared. Can anyone suggest any websites that might help?
Renting your home for part of the year, or for a longer period of time, generates great income. Because you are renting your home, as opposed to a property specifically designed for renting, you will want to be more careful with the terms you set in the lease.
contact your local real estate and they will give you dozens of options!
I can't believe that no one has mentioned Craigslist yet.
http://www.craigslist.org then search for the location nearest you. This will give you all kinds of listings for homes usually being rented directly from the owner where you can often negotiate the price more easily.
Check out craigslist.org. To look for a particular city or metropolitan on craigslist, do a search on Yahoo or Google, etc., and put in the city & craigslist.org.
For instance, I'd do a search for Denver, Colorado like this:
craigslist.org Denver
You should get to the craigslist you're looking for.
I like craigslist because then I know the landlord/company is up-to-date and internet savvy. They are usually better at listing the price, too, in my experience.
Good luck!

Land of any country has all become private property, the landlords, like all other men, love to reap where they never sowed, and demand a rent even for its natural produce. the portion of rental income attributable to land, since the land will exist no matter what the rental rate.
Ask everyone (family, friends, coworkers). Check online (Craigslist, etc...). Check the local housing authorities/services.
The biggest problem that I've found with craigslist is that Redirentals spams the website with what are most likely nonexistant rentals. Redirentals charges $50 for you to join - no thanks, not with so much empty housing in Tucson.
tarmls.com is pretty good, although I do wade through craigslist in hope of finding something.
Another tool you can utilize to find house to rent is craigs list. My wife found our current house by using this website to compare different homes. It is a great way to look at multiple homes without having to commute around town.
you can find list of available houses for rent around the net, you can also ask your friends. beware of fraud agents that may offer you deals like laeeque ahmed. Laeeque Ahmed is famous for selling at asking price, if not for all the other scams. Maybe next do some research on people before you deal with them.
Thank god for forums and blogs.
While many people would love to have an extra house to worry about, owning even one rental property can be a headache. You have to tease the problem apart and ask yourself, among other things:
* Is it worth hanging onto this property?
* How will you feel about strangers moving into your beloved home?
* Can you, a novice with a day job, turn a dime on a real-estate rental while avoiding the Tenants from Hell?
You must contact real estate agent in your area. They can tell you how to and where to rent. They can offer you good deals.
If you never know how to fine agent in your area then search on google. You ll find many real estate agent in your area.
The rental markets in many cities are cyclical: a few boom years with renters scrambling for any available studio followed by a glut in availability. In either scenario, the most desirable rental units are snapped up the quickest. Do your homework, then hit the pavement.
